Bee's Knees

ABOUT

This gin based Prohibition Era cocktail is as sweet as a honey bee without the sting.

Ironically enough, the base spirit for this drink is Bluecoat American Dry Gin, a Philadelphia based gin produced by Philadelphia Distilling — the first craft distillery in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since Prohibition. While most gins are dominated by juniper berries, Bluecoat is a more citrus forward contemporary gin with notes consisting of sweet citrus and lemon peels.

The honey syrup and freshly squeezed lemon juice pair perfectly and help to enhance rather than mask the taste of Bluecoat.

This cocktail is best served up. A lemon peel garnish is optional.
