Celebrate National Mojito Day with this sweet and slightly spicy spin on the Mojito. Made with with a mint ginger syrup, fresh lime juice, a whiskey, this drink is perfect for both the summer and wintertimes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 5 - 10 mint leaves

  • 1/2 lime, cut into wedges or 3/4 oz. lime juice

  • 1 oz. mint ginger syrup

  • 1.5 oz. whiskey

  • Club soda

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare the mint ginger syrup syrup by adding 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, handful of mint, and a few slices of fresh peeled ginger to a saucepan.

  2. Bring mixture to a boil

  3. Reduce heat and let simmer on low heat for 5 - 10 minutes

  4. Let syrup cool completely and then strain through a fine mesh strainer

  5. Place the ingredients in a tall or collins glass in the following order: mint leaves, limes wedges, mint ginger syrup

  6. Muddle well

  7. Add whiskey and then fill with ice

  8. Fill with club soda

  9. Gently stir

  10. Garnish with additional mint or candied ginger

  11. Enjoy
