Pear Sage Syrup

The sage’s bitter and pine-like flavor is balanced out by the pear’s sweet, crisp and floral fragrance. This syrup is one you never knew you needed. We first used it in our Ungodly Hour.


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup honey

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 asian pear, diced

  • 6 sage leaves

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare the pear sage syrup by adding the water, honey and diced pear to a small saucepan and bringing the mixture to a boil

  2. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15 - 20 minutes

  3. Add sage leaves and let simmer for an additional 60 seconds

  4. Immediately remove from heat

  5. Allow pears and sage to steep in syrup for 10 minutes to intensify the syrup’s flavor

  6. Strain the syrup and store in a glass container for use
