Fig Syrup

This rich, decadent syrup is the perfect, yet unexpected addition to any drink. It adds a layer of depth and silkiness to your favorite cocktails — whether shaken or stirred. We first used it in our In the Beginning.


INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup sun-dried Calimyrna figs, diced

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare the fig syrup by adding all of the ingredients to a small saucepan and bringing the mixture to a boil

  2. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15 minutes

  3. Remove from heat and let syrup cool completely before use. Allow figs to steep in syrup while cooling to intensify the syrup’s flavor

  4. Strain the figs out of the syrup and store in a glass container for use
