Rose Hibiscus Syrup

ABOUT

A failed attempt at a hibiscus tea cocktail led us to this beautiful creation. The hibiscus’ original tartness, subdued by layers of floral sweetness, makes this the perfect addition to any cocktail year round.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/4 cup of rose water

  • 1 hibiscus tea bag

  • 1 cup sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare the rose hibiscus syrup by brining a little more than one cup of rose water to a boil in a small saucepan

  2. Immediately remove from heat and add hibiscus tea bag to begin brewing the tea. Let sit for at least 5 minutes

  3. Discard tea bag, add one cup of sugar to saucepan and bring to a boil

  4. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5 minutes

  5. Remove from heat and let syrup cool completely before use
